17 The wonderful island It was a marvelous island. Unknown birds were flying above the amazed men, while others were twittering in the foliage. Streams with crystalline waters were flowing into an emerald bay. Fish were swimming without fear near the beach. It was a dream island! Suddenly, they heard the beat of drums giving rhythm to battle songs. The frightened crew ran back to the ship leaving both Rätä and Punua on the beach. They were however ready for the fight.
